About Ellie Kate's Helping Hand

Ellie Kate’s Wish was created by NKH Crusaders in memory of Ellie Kate McLaughlin, who bravely battled NKH, and inspired joy and resilience. Ellie Kate's Helping Hand initiative was started to support NKH families facing financial hardships. This program seeks to provide assistance to families struggling with out-of-pocket medical expenses related to NKH. Families can apply year-round to share their specific needs, and we strive to support those most in need. Though only 500 individuals live with NKH, our community spans the globe. Ellie Kate's legacy continues through this initiative, bringing hope and relief to NKH families.

To ensure efficient support for all NKH families, requests must be submitted through this form rather than contacting The Lucas John Foundation, The John Thomas Foundation, or NKH Crusaders individually. This process allows us to track assistance provided and offer recipients opportunities to give back. Submissions will be reviewed by representatives from these organizations. Eligible requests may include medication, Peapod chairs, bath seats, durable medical equipment, and memorial support.
